ONLY 143 EXAMPLES OF PETTY’S GARAGE MUSTANG WILL BE PRODUCED
Ford and Petty’s Garage are collaborating on a new limited-edition fastback. The Petty’s Garage Mustang GT is based on the2014 SEMA concept and corrals 627 hp underhood with the addition of a Ford Racing/Roush supercharger.
“We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback about our Petty’s Garage Mustang GT displayed at the SEMA Show,” said Jeff Whaley, Petty’s Garage COO. “With so much interest, we began to explore the possibility of building a limited run of the Petty’s Garage Mustang GT.”
Just 100 examples of the Stage 1 setup and 43 examples of the Stage 2 will be built. The first Stage 2 has already been ordered by legendary rocker/car enthusiast Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
The Stage 1 GT will wear a Petty’s Garage fascia in front, a reworked rear, a center exhaust and a race-inspired spoiler. Inside, buyers get embroidered head restraints, floor mats and Richard Petty’s signature on the dash.
For the power upgrade, Petty’s Garage installed the supercharger, cold-air intake, custom engine calibration and MagnaFlow exhaust. Continental tires wrap custom 20-inch HRE FlowForm wheels. The Stage 1 can be ordered in any color; all the new bodywork will be painted to match.
Upgrading to the Stage 2 package nets drivers a Wilwood big brake kit, a custom two-tone paint job and Petty’s Garage three-piece HRE wheels. The paint formula uses crushed and tumbled glass with Petty blue for the lower half; the upper half is covered in tuxedo black. The King’s No. 43 is ghost-painted onto the hood and C-pillar.
The Stage 1 car costs $62,210, while the Stage 2 starts at $92,210, Mustang GT included. Powertrain changes are covered by a three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Racing/Roush Performance limited warranty. Orders can be placed at any Ford dealership on a first-come/first-served basis.
