BLACKED-OUT PICKUPS ARE THE NEW BLACK
The Sierra Elevation Edition, which we learned about last September, is on sale now for $34,865 for the two-wheel drive model, including destination. Four-wheel drive models start at $38,795.
“The Sierra Elevation Edition is all about expressive style and technology,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC sales and marketing. “Its customized appearance makes it a standout for style-conscious customers, while its technologies help keep them plugged in to their connected lifestyles.”
The Elevation Edition -- based on the 1500 double cab -- comes with body-color bumpers, moldings, door handles, grille surround and mirror caps, CornerStep rear bumper, G80 locking rear differential, 110V power outlet, remote keyless entry, heated, power-adjustable outside mirrors, LED cargo box lighting, six months of OnStar, color-keyed carpeting and tinted windows.
It’s available with either a 285-hp, 4.3-liter V6 or a 355-hp, 5.3-liter V8.
In other GM-related truck news, Chevy introduced the Silverado Midnight Edition for the Chicago Auto Show. Like the Elevation Edition, the Midnight Edition gets black trim, special badges, off-road parts, rear parking assist and more.
The Midnight Edition package will cost $1,600-$2,000 on top of the price of a standard pickup, putting it right in line with the Elevation Edition.
We’ll see both in Chicago next month.
