2014-2015 Mazda 6 sedan recalled for TPMS problems

MAY NOT FUNCTION IF TIRES LOSE PRESSURE EQUALLY

Mazda is recalling nearly 100,000 2014 and 2015 Mazda 6 sedans for a problem with the tire pressure-monitoring system. The company found that if one of the affected vehicles -- manufactured between Oct. 25, 2012 and Oct. 10, 2014 -- loses tire pressure in all tires equally, the TPMS may not warn them.

Obviously, a car with underinflated tires will perform worse, but it could also experience a sudden failure, which could lead to a crash. Mazda will notify owners, beginning next month, and fix the TPMS software, free of charge.
