The 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat costs $64,990; SE starts at $28,990

New Scat Pack model added, more features for Plus Group

    Dodge rolled out pricing for the 2015 Charger lineup on Monday. The base SE model comes in at $28,990 while the insane 707-hp Charger Hellcat will start at $64,990. That SE price is $1,000 more than last year. All prices include $995 in destination charges.

    The SE model gets Chrysler’s Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 making 292 hp. It’s now matched to the same TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission that’s in the Challenger Hellcat. Standard features include a 5-inch UConnect touchscreen, a 7-inch driver information screen and the availability of all-wheel drive for $3,000. The SXT trim ($30,990) adds UConnect Access, Chrysler’s entertainment suite, 18-inch wheels and LED fog lamps.

    Stepping up to the Hemi engine, the R/T model delivers 370 hp and comes with the eight-speed with paddle shifters, 20-inch wheels and a spoiler. It comes in at $33,990. Adding the Scat Pack option switches out the 5.7-liter V8 for the 485 hp, 6.4-liter version. Buyers also get four-piston Brembo brakes and Dodge Performance Pages to measure speed, braking and g-forces.

    The Charger SRT 392 ($48,380) has the same power as the Scat Pack, but with six-piston Brembo brakes, Pirelli P-Zero tires, a three-mode adaptive suspension and different drive modes that affect the steering, throttle and transmission programs.

    Last but not least, the Hellcat. You already know the specs: 707-hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, 11 seconds flat in the quarter. We’re actually going to drive the angry kitty this week, so stay tuned for that. Like we said, it’ll start at $64,990. That’s $4,000 more than the Challenger Hellcat, by the way.

    The Plus Group of options is new for 2015. The package includes ventilated napa leather sport seats, heated steering wheel and second-row seats, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, polished cast-aluminum wheels with graphite-colored pockets, ParkSense rear park-assist system, ParkView rear backup camera and more.

    Dodge says it refreshed nearly every panel on the 2015 sedan, and added new LED lights in front and back. A selection of “high-impact” colors with fancy names are offered. They boil down to red, blue pearl, gray, silver, two blacks, ivory pearl and bright white. Ten different 20-inch wheel packages are offered.

    Dodge also upped the safety quotient on the sedan, offering more than 80 standard and available features including full-speed forward collision warning-plus, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with lane keep assist and rear backup camera with dynamic gridlines.

    The 2015 Charger will go on sale before the end of the year, the SRT Hellcat will start production in the first quarter of 2015.
